In a world of infinite grays
We make black and white
Because we love drama
And we love stories

In a world of only gray beauty
We make up ugly
And its equally impossible opposite

We put fools on pedestals
And imprison them with worship
Because we are so desperate and wanting
For something to die for
Something to bleed for
Something to work for
Something to cry for

We hate the imaginary enemies
Of our imaginary heroes
Because for every false idol
There's a false devil

We are like the child
Who suffers the worst heart break
When their romantic crush
To whom they never even spoke a word
Kisses another

And when the actors,
whose false face,
we claim to love
inevitably fail
to live up
to our impossible standards
They are recast
Into the demons

We decry the wolf in sheep's clothing
Even though we imagined the clothing
And invented the sheep
And there is no wolf either
Only more fantastic costumes

We all see what we want to see.
And if you want to see a world in which you don't see what you want to see
Well, you'll see that too

For in the most heavenly of heavens,
even the hell-wishers are granted their wish

A worthwhile, realistic, and down-to-earth poetry. I loved the introduction of the poem! It is very literary. Also, I liked the expression 'We want something to die for Something to bleed for Something to work for Something to cry for' in the above poem.
