I got up

Got up at 8 this morning,
brushed my teeth, combed my hair,
went downstairs,
made peppermint tea,
that’s amazing just for me.

Didn’t do a Hiit, Pilates, Zumba,
yoga class or more.
Just sat down and breathed the air coming in from my back door.

Didn’t run a single mile,
learn a new instrument for free.
I watched a robin in my garden.
That’s amazing just for me.

Didn’t attempt a new language or do much creativity.
I got dressed today and went downstairs,
that’s amazing just for me.

Stayed calm and meditated,
gave thanks and hugged my son,
made veg soup for lunch, for me, today I won.

Isolating is so lonely,
but music soothes me endlessly,
dancing round the kitchen,
helps to calm my anxiety.

That’s amazing for me..
