A CRY FROM THE JUNGLE

Post by Okewunmi Pelumi »

A mysterious cry drew my unwavering attention,
Without hesitation, I moved to offer salvation.

From the heart of the jungle, a perilous sound,
Trapped in its grasp, your escape not easily found.

A desperate plea for aid, a cry in the wild,
Beware, for regret may accompany the beguiled.

This never-ending echo, a relentless refrain,
Did this lost soul wander here by plan or by bane?

A jungle's cry, a web of deceit it weaves,
Even the wisest soul it can easily deceive.

A voice, unfamiliar, lost in the jungle's sprawl,
Kindness is noble, but let wisdom be your call.

Emotions entwined, a perilous devotion,
Beware of adopting pains, not of your own notion.

Yours truly is not merely ink on a scroll,
In this wilderness, let wisdom be your goal.
