The Hopeless Hope
The domain of her heart is left dry like a drain.
Each chamber bereft of physical or emotional anything.
No old t-shirts, no cologne scented blankets, no toys or trains
All love and affection lost, leaving no song to sing.
The waterfalls continue to plummet into riverbeds unknown.
And alone she is in the abyss, nowhere to be shown.
The earth tilts and sways with each of her sighs
Built upon the people who told her so many lies.
Her fiery passionate love of life made men bow or cower.
But to late were their words of consolidation and flowers.
Flowers stop in the midst of blooming,
Hope succumbed, warped and dooming.
The scorching sun inevitably wilts the petals
And they collapse but on the ground settle.
The wind will howl – shaming the wolves who stand so brave
As it picks up the petals and drags them to her grave
