Autumn Run

Post by Jaskee Nanda »

Autumn.
The leaves shed.
A feeling of bliss and calm.

Thud. Thud. Thud.
Left. Right. Left. Right.

Autumn.
The best time to run.
Run away,
run to,
run from...

When the wind is softly blowing,
When the leaves dance all day ‘round

Thud. Thud. Thud.
Left. Right. Left. Right.

My cheeks are red
I pant.
How much further ?

The sky, a clear blue.
Soft fluffs,
not large enough to be called clouds,
drift around.
Can I reach out and touch them ?

My phone buzzed.
A call for me.

'Come back...'

Not a cry,
A command.

Autumn.
The season for escape.
The season for freedom.

The red leaves,
look like the flags I missed.
