New Year's Eve on Planet Earth 🌍

A flame flickers before my eyes
bringing forth memories of the past:
a year or a day
can amount to the same,
what matters is only mirrored
in my heart: sad, angry, or full of joy
for every thought and emotion
there's a unique vibration.
Breathing in between reaction and action
ushers in choice.
And I give thanks
before letting go,
scattering the ashes of the old
behind my back
Like a track signalling
the road I have made on this Earth so far.
Now, with eyes full of stars,
I scan the heavens and trust.
