Le Déni

Post by Serena_Charlotte »

She smiles at every person she meets.
They grimace.
They cannot stand it—
The scars

She waves to each person she meets
They are confused.
Doesn't she see them—
The scars?

She cannot see it.
To herself, she is beautiful
She wears a smile on her face, so she does not notice—
The scars

Adults are concerned now.
They fight all the time.
Her mother cries,
But she keeps smiling.

She contemplates in the mirror
"What a smooth skin I have!"
What she does not see...
The scars.

She feels it before she sees it;
A dark presence behind her.
When it leaves, she is on the ground,
Bleeding from all pores.

She gets up and wipes away her tears.
Looking at the mirror, she finally sees it;
A cry rips out of her throat.
They are there in all proportions ... the scars

She cries out again.
She can no longer deal with it.
She plasters a smile on her face
And wipes away the blood.

She smiles at every person she meets.
They grimace.
They can not stand it—
The scars.
Where is the line between insanity and creativity?
Is the reality of the world different from how we perceive and experience it in our minds? Does physical reality exist apart from the human mind?
