To the girl I used to be,
The one with the sad, brown eyes.
The girl who learned too early how to hide pain behind a smile,
The brave girl, the lost girl,
The girl whose spirit had not yet been broken,
The girl who loved ladybugs & fireflies,
climbing trees and hide and seek.
The escape artist, the protector, the big sister.
The girl who tried to hold everything together, even as she crumbled apart.
This girl is me. Older, Battle-scarred, Warier.
I am sorry you had to go through so much to become me.

Perfect work.
It's unique and unexpected, makes the reader wants to dig deeper, unvail all their thoughts. I personally found myself wondering if I am this girl. It makes you want to reveal all of you.
I'd personally like to read more of this poet's work, it's inspiring and just great.
I'd rate it 7/10,mainly because I feel like the writer still needs to know more about his or her craft and embrace it wholesomely.
