You can't escape it.
It's everywhere one minute you are here
The next you are gone
You can't run away from it.
It always catches up with you,
and it doesn't care who dies or who it leaves behind.

This is interesting, but I see it more as a perfect introduction to a story poem.
Perhaps this poem could continue by describing an event in which someone thinks they have cheated death (fourth line) only to be overcome later (fifth line). Even more interesting is if in the story the person who dies is a good person and another who lives is a bad one. (Last line)
Thanks for sharing your poem with us!

Thanks. My cousin died in 1991 and I wrote this about him when I was teenager.

I always think about death as a door to an afterlife - I mean it from a biblical perspective. This is really well written. Even though your cousin died before I was even born, I still wish to express my condolences for your loss.

The author's message is vividly explained in her words although it's a very short poem. It's straight to the point and deals directly to the realities about death. This is a also an effective reminder for us to treasure the life
that God has freely given us - to use it for our well-being, to spend it meaningfully with our loved ones and to share it unselfishly for others.

The poem is well written and the message is very clear on death.I love it though,it is short. We can't escape death.Death is also not selective.

I felt a shudder reading the poem. Knowing that you were just a teenager when you wrote it, I could feel that you were close to your cousin who died and regretted his early passing.
I also write poems for events and people in my life. I hope I can post them here too one of these days.
