The raindrops pitter-patter on the window pane.
My mood is gray and dreary, like the sky outside.
It seems I'll go back to my addictions again.
Cause the desires kills me inside.

My thoughts are full of worry, as the rain continues to pour.
My heart is sinking slowly, as the storm rages on the shore.
I once promise myself that I won't return to my addictions.
But it seems that not going back causes afflictions.

As I feel the darkness inside, I can't help but feel alone.
Trapped in my thoughts, I'm scared of where I'll end up when I'm grown.
Should I really go back, I kept thinking
As I watched the clock ticking.

As the clock's ticking grows louder, my resolve starts to weaken.
My desire to resist grows smaller, like the flame of a slowly-dying beacon.

I searched the scriptures
What verse can I use to stop this pressures
As I look for measures
I found Matthew 11 vs 28
I did what it said
I felt it changed my mindset

I felt delivered
I was bewildered
At how fast the scriptures worked
So, I decided to study more
Since it helped me fight my war.
