Brought Forth Into Disquiet

You brought me into the world through much pain

That was natural to all women

But the pain, angst, disquiet, heartache, that you yourself would eventually begin to cause me –

Was I sincerely deserving?

I felt confused

Ugly

Stupid

Worthless

All at the hands of you, my mother

It would be many years before I felt anything other than

Disquiet

Hopelessness

Angst.
