When I Am Most Myself

Post by Scott »

I just wrote this today! Let me know what you think :)

When I Am Most Myself

When I am most myself
I feel like I've lived a million different lives
I hear the trees speaking
But it's not to this me to which they are speaking
Because when I most hear the trees
I've become the faint whispers
And time slows down until it fully stops
and the eternal present swallows the whole universe
Past, present
Near, far

When I am most myself
I remember the things that happened to each and every person
I feel the faint echos of my infinite lives
The fictions of me and the truths of you melt together

When I am most myself
I remember soaring as a bird
And flowing with a river
I remember crawling through tiny holes in the dirt
And exploding as a supernova
Scales become nothing
And I see the whole universe inside of an ant
In a mirror I see almost nothing
And in the vast infinite starry night sky
I see myself
I see everything

Hi Eckhart, I like your poem and it immediately made me think of how wonderful life after death will be. As a spirit I will be able to fly and visit any place in the universe in a split second. I will understand the past and the future and adore God.

'In a mirror I see almost nothing, And in the vast, infinite starry night sky I see myself I see almost everything.' I liked the ending of the poem. The poem has a philosophical and spiritual touch. 'I feel the faint echoes of my infinite lives.' Radiance of knowledge!

I really enjoy your poems and stories although sometimes I really have to think about what you have written before I understand it. You have a wonderful mind and I have learned so much from you. I still hope you will be taking your book on the book tour and visiting Phoenix. @Mrlefty0706

A beautiful poem. The line "The fictions of me and the truths of you melt together" especially struck me. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this poem! I especially like the visuals you provide in the last stanza. I love nature, so referencing it is a joyful experience. Thank you for sharing!

When I Am Most Myself

What I like most about this poem is its ability to evoke a profound sense of unity with nature and the universe as you explore the depths of identity and consciousness. I appreciate the vivid imagery and the way you seamlessly weave together moments of introspection with cosmic contemplation. This poem invites readers to delve into their own introspective journeys and ponder the mysteries of existence.

Keep up the great work! :tiphat:
The greatest part of a writer’s time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book.
—Samuel Johnson

Scott, this is really good. I have read it several times and I keep thinking what an incredible life it would be to experience all of these things in a short period of time. The lives you have witnessed, being inside the soaring eagle, feeling like you are flying would all be wonderful. I thought of Father Time watching lives, flying like an eagle totally free. Thank you for sharing this excellent work of art with us. @Mrlefty0706
