Let's not talk about math

Isn’t it ironic to strive for constants in this world full of relativity
Those fractions of moments that can make you question reality
One day you’re here one day you’re not
Every single second of the day counts

I always find myself wondering about the so called right formula
If it even exist in this pandora
Live for today, live for tomorrow
Live for the past that’s been haunting you forever

Yesterday I looked up and saw the moon shining brightly in the vast darkness of the sky
People call it the super-moon as if it’s not the same moon wishing you good night, every night
I think we really have it backwards
We tend to look for miracles when it has always been in front of us

Isn’t it ironic to strive for constants when the only thing constant is inconsistency?

I wrote this poem while I was stuck in traffic and just got lost in my thought. I'm glad that you appreciate it. It means a lot to me. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Awesome. I like the fusion of reality and abstract themes. It takes you so far away and brings you back to where you are. Great.

Thank you for sharing. To begin, I love the title "Let's Not Talk About Math." I was pleasantly surprised that there was little math in your work (except, of course, allusions to mathematical terms). I was very interested by your poem. Your narrator seems to be voicing a need for stability while knowing that it is impossible to find it. The only criticism that I have is that I want your narrator to explore the thoughts more-- like what was the right formula? Is it to live for today, etc? Or has the speaker considered the act of finding it futile?

I am beyond grateful for hearing your thoughts about my poem.
I didn't give much thought about it until you pointed it out. Let's just say it's the latter. kidding aside, I agree that I should've expounded on that "right formula." Will take note of that next time. Thanks a lot!

A good syllable, and a profound philosophical overtones, I like this in poetry. Thank you for the wonderful verse.
