Memory Beach

dig deep into the sands of my memory beach
unearth the pearls that hide,
clamped tight inside the safety of their shell,
but let your breeze whisper its salty secrets there,
and they will open wider than a cave,
you see, you fill this destruction with your sea spray,
those long waves, fill those once smooth sands
they make this beach new again,
your cove is the safest place i have ever been,
my pearls come tumbling at the sight of your mouth,
you understand you could be rich,
but you settle for this disheveled landscape,
of my weakest castles,
for they are made of sand,
and you are the sturdiest cave,
my castles are grateful for your shelter
