Honestly, these two lines captures the dilemma my mind is always pondering. Short and deep.

Thank you helenejike for your reply.I wrote the poem based on the problems people face in life.Sometimes, problems may make people think of seeking refuge in death and that's why some would opt to commit suicide. However, death as an escape from world's problems, brings sorrow. This can be inscribed at a tomb of a loved one for remembrance.
Thank you and keep reading!

Hits close to home. My Grandmother died this January and it still feels like yesterday. It still brings to thought that the sadness in death is preferable to the pain you live with. But it is not the sadness you have to deal with in ones own death, but everyone else around you that then in turn must suffer both.

Just two lines but in two lines you expressed the emotions that were brewing inside you and I found it relatable.

Those two stanzas are short, but they say a lot. Suicide is a real problem in this world, and many believe that it's the answer to life's problems. Yes, this world is full of hardships and pain, but suicide is such a terrible way to end it.

By the way, this was very well written. Nice example of quality is better than quantity.

Sophiemer, thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings on the poem.I concur with you that during one's lifetime, one may face numerous challenges, pain and hardships that may push one to the wall of despair, hopelessness and gnawing of teeth. However, death as escape from these challenges and hardships brings sorrow to all of us.
