Loan Yourself to Me

I don't need you
for me
to be happy
But I'm still asking
Loan yourself to me

In a deadly drought
I would dehydrate
And pass on
With my soul smiling
For I found the truer drink
In the eternal well of my infinite soul

And truly I need nothing

And yet these hands and mouth
Still write and speak
Begging in a way
Drown me in your love
Loan yourself to me

Sometimes we live for the person so much that we neglect ourselves and forget how to live for ourselves. Yet you loved yourself first before you fell in love.
