A beautiful world we had

Gone are the days of old
Beauty thereof you may not have been told
The little birds so sweet they sang
Great to behold was the crystal clean spring,
Blissful atmosphere from morn till eventide
And in this comeliness we all took pride
But so fast all's gone,
And a hideous world is born
A world pathetically technophilic
The fullness of it ruefully optimistic
Though the situation not totally bad
But it was a beautiful world we had
