This a poem I wrote with my best friend in mind; we've been besties for ten years now and our relationship has survived elementary, middle, and high school, and now college in different states. We still visit each other when we can and talk often. I couldn't have hoped for a better friend.

If you’re the sun
I’m the moon
Positivity that shines so brightly in you
Negativity that glows so dimly in me
These opposites attract
But it is the spot of darkness in you
And the spot of light in me
That lets us not only complement each other
But understand each other
Like Yin and Yang
We are the best of friends

This brings out the feeling of closeness, always locked together like the fingers next to each other. So adorable and something to keep reading.

A serious thought simply stated. It reminds me of Emily Dickinson's style of writing poems.
