Words at Play

Words even the most prosaic
can, when they're let out to play,
form into a mad mosaic,

Something nifty, new, to say,
with a daring combination,
and some help along the way ...

Coalesce into creation,
juxtapose and generate
interbreeding, infiltration

Words can mingle and can mate,
and if they're in need of kneading,
pause upon on a poet's plate ...

images and tenses breeding,
greedy gobbling up their sense,
in a fresh and frantic feeding

sometimes arch, sometimes intense,
of knowledge born and innocence.

Lovely rhythm on this poem, and some awesome rhymes! No better way to describe the things that words can do.
