when i first saw her
i thought my soul needed her
she had a button nose
and cut-up clothes
she was different
she listened to unknown bands
her tongue tasted like honey
clothes smelled like money
when i was crying
she'd give me a cigarette
put another needle into skin
everything's conceived in sin
that mystery in
that girl's green eyes and hard hands
frightened me
almost ruined me
she was only scared
when she heard police sirens
because she put a drug in my vein
"don't worry, it takes away the pain."
soon the mystery
of that so beautiful girl
because intimidation
an unholy infatuation
no more cigarettes
when my tears stained her carpet
she was smoking weed
and i couldn't breathe
that girl was
killing me, ruining me
she spoke pretty lies
left me to rot and die
when you see a girl
with childlike eyes and sad smiles
remember she's at best a maybe
never gonna be your baby
