Poem for a dearly missed Mom

You and I on a starry night
Sitting up close we're mother and child
My body feels cold outside
But I think it's colder inside
I know there's a wound inside you
Let me heal it for you
Broken heart, broken spirit
Let's fix it, it's not too late.
But the Almighty has called you back home
To show what He has in store for you
Then I realized you left me alone
Knowing in this world, there's no other 'you'
How can I reach your heart
Now that we are a lifetime apart
I guess I'll be spending some nights
With a memory of you by my side.
Sitting up close we're mother and child
My body feels cold outside
But I think it's colder inside
I know there's a wound inside you
Let me heal it for you
Broken heart, broken spirit
Let's fix it, it's not too late.
But the Almighty has called you back home
To show what He has in store for you
Then I realized you left me alone
Knowing in this world, there's no other 'you'
How can I reach your heart
Now that we are a lifetime apart
I guess I'll be spending some nights
With a memory of you by my side.
