An Argument For Love
Why should men fall in love, not rise in it?
For want of apt expressions, then why this?
Men should not fall, but win, this, I submit;
Love is not cursed, but rather, one of bliss.
The stirring stress in hearts of those involved,
Is caused not, by the love that, there, would roost,
But rightly so, by its decline, unsolved,
Anxiety, that soon, love might be lost;
For lovers are the piers, and love between
As bridge, which is how true love should be kept,
Supported equally, each end has been,
There is no bridge if one pier won't accept;
...What love is there, when just one heart has raved?
...When only one adores, love is depraved.
Why should men fall in love, not rise in it?
For want of apt expressions, then why this?
Men should not fall, but win, this, I submit;
Love is not cursed, but rather, one of bliss.
The stirring stress in hearts of those involved,
Is caused not, by the love that, there, would roost,
But rightly so, by its decline, unsolved,
Anxiety, that soon, love might be lost;
For lovers are the piers, and love between
As bridge, which is how true love should be kept,
Supported equally, each end has been,
There is no bridge if one pier won't accept;
...What love is there, when just one heart has raved?
...When only one adores, love is depraved.
