Strangers

Somewhere down the horizon
I will come looking for you.
We will meet and pass by like strangers.
But our shadows would tangle in a desperate hug.
Then for a minute or two
I will spend consuming your image
Your face with a brilliant smile
And the hair radiating under the sun.
Then you will walk into somebody else's arms
But I will be happy anyway
That you still exist
Much happier than once you used to be!
I will come looking for you.
We will meet and pass by like strangers.
But our shadows would tangle in a desperate hug.
Then for a minute or two
I will spend consuming your image
Your face with a brilliant smile
And the hair radiating under the sun.
Then you will walk into somebody else's arms
But I will be happy anyway
That you still exist
Much happier than once you used to be!
