Stuck

Hi there, here is a short poem. I haven't written poetry in a while, but I have a good-sized collection. Let me know what you think. Something to mention, my poetry is pretty... Out there. I like symbolism and pushing the envelope when it comes to form and style.
Stuck
We watch the forest burn and you hold my hand,
With our feet buried deep in the moving sand,
With the stars susurrating above us;
The blaze is closer and it’s fast.
You look at me with the shadows of the fire
Trembling in your gaze; we’re now higher,
And you ask me to sleep, want me low;
The ashes rise and grow and grow.
There’s burning leaves in your auburn locks
And you stand close, oh so close
To my soul; you sigh and shake your head;
Around us, there are fire threads.
You ask me to stay and beg me to remain
And tears your cheeks softly stain;
I want to leave and never see you again;
The blaze is now without refrain.
I can see the dying love in your eyes and yet
You insist and plead; the sand is moving as you fret;
We are stuck;
You trapped me in your quicksand embrace,
I burned your world and everything in the space
Surrounded by our love.
