If not Cara Delevingne, then who?

We all know Paper Towns has been made into a movie, and some of us have been lucky enough to see it (USA). Margo Roth Spiegelman is being played by the fabulous Cara Delevingne, who some could argue is the perfect woman for the job. But if Cara was not around, who would you pick?

Have you seen the interview she did where she had so much attitude the news anchor told her to get some sleep and drink a red bull (which was unprofessional as well). I don't really like Cara because to me she has a resting B*** face where she always looks mad. It's hard to unsee her as the person playing Margo though so its hard to imagine anyone differently. If you would asked me a few months ago before I saw the preview I could have told you easier

I don't really think she was the best person to play Margo. I feel like she doesn't have a lot of acting experience which made the character she portrayed seem...cheesy. I would, however, have a difficult time choosing another actress.

I think Emma Watson, Zooey Deschanel, Miranda Cosgrove or Emma Blackery (not an actress, YouTuber) could be suitable for the role of Margo, but they would hardly make up for Cara Delevigne. (Emma Watson might, but Cara's still perfect.)

I was actually surprised that they picked a famous model to perform as a character in one of John Green's more well-known books. But she executed it better than I thought. But if not Cara, Emma Watson can do no wrong.

I LOVE Cara– both as herself and as Margo Roth Speigelman. I never thought of Emma Watson portraying Margo until reading these replies, and now that I think about it she probably would have done a great job too.

I don't know who I would pick, I just know I'm not much of a Cara fan. I don't mind her bitchy resting face, as I unintentionally have one most of the time, too. I just didn't think she was all that mysterious or likable in the movie. Those two things are pretty much supposed to make up the entirety of Margo's character and I don't think Cara pulled it off.

I honestly hated the directors choice to cast Cara as Margo. While reading the book I imagined Margo to be down-to-earth, yet to be the kind of person who doesn't take any bs from anyone. However, I feel that Cara portrayed her as a stuck-up, self-centered teenager. I would have loved for either Amanda Seyfried or (mainstream, I know) Jennifer Lawrence to play the part of Margo Roth Spiegelman.

I could imagine Emma Watson, Anna Kendrick, or Selena Gomez playing Margo.

I personally love Cara Delvingne as Margo. At first, I definitely wasn't sure how I would feel about her portrayal of Margo. After watching the movie though, I think she did an excellent job.

I didn't consider this either but it actually seems like such a cool thing now that I think about it. I used to be such a huge Emma fan, and I'm sure she would've done an amazing job playing Margo.

I initially thought of Emma Watson, but... I think she might be, like, too nice for the role. Margo is selfish and manipulative, and Emma Watson seems like such a sweet heart. I haven't see Cara Delvinge, but from what I can tell, I think she might have the right attitude.

I think someone unknown wouldn't have received as much hype as Cara Delevingne did with her role. Also she is very popular with the younger generation (saying this made me feel old now), so in a way she was perfect for the role.

Cara did a fabulous job of playing Margo Roth Spiegelman. I actually didn't know her until I saw the movie. If not for Cara, Emma Watson would suit the role. I don't think it could have been better, but Emma always surprises, so I can't say for sure.

I know a lot of people have said that Emma Watson could have played this role but personally I could actually picture Emma Roberts in this role more.

Though everyone thinks Emma Watson would have been a great fit, I don’t really agree. Her face is too sweet to play a character like Margo. I think Cara was a great choice.
