Pretty much the same thing as a debit card for small value purchases ... you have to have the a cash credit on it to use it.

Oh ok. Thanks Fran. Yes, Debit card - I use it all the time.....rarely do I have cash.

In the land of Oz, we have Touch or PayPass cards. You touch your credit card to any eligible terminal and securely pay for your purchases under $100. No PIN, no pens – touch and go. You can't accidentally pay for a purchase twice and there's security chip technology but I can't help thinking it's as negotiable as cash if lost or stolen.
