Saw Woody Allen's " Midnight in Paris " a very flimsy story w/a most quirky /egomaniacal " shtick " employed by nut job Woody....the main charachter ( Owen Wilson ) a tall good looking chap, takes on the VOICE and HAND GESTURES in a ridiculous imitation of Woody...sort of like Rich Little " doing Woody "..............very bizarre and distracting...

The " feel good " part for me was the Cole Porter score and the exquisite photography...Paris w/o a doubt has to be the most photogenic city...

Enjoyed Kathy Bates portrayal of Gertrude Stein, and my fave actor Adrien Brody playing my fave painter, Salvadore Dali...

If you enjoy the " fantasy " genre, this is it...shifting time frames from the present, to " Belle Epoch era, etc. was cleverly done, but of course the REAL fantasy is that creepy /dorky /unattractive Woody exploits a film ( just because he can ) to live out his constant quest of being " leading man " material as revealed by this " alter-ego " device...

Still humming " You do Something to Me ", and " Let's do it, Let's fall in Love "

Id like to see that. I like Owen Wilson, hes a hoot. Also Cole porter music. Did you know Woody Allens side hobby is playing clarinet in a New Orleans jazz band? If youve ever noticed in his movies he uses a lot of that super-cool 1920's stuff for background music, its his favorite kind.

Feel good movies. One that always gave me a good feeling was Guess Whos Coming to Dinner.
