Is the surname in any way related to Winston Churchill ?

The Duke of Marlborough was one of Churchill's ancestors (surname), then there is the brand Marlborough, which is a cigarette (+21), and finally the cigarette brand had a hero (The Marlborough Man - a cowboy in the commercials).

So could the answer to the riddle be Marlborough?

It's not Marlborough, but you have some good clues:
1. It is, indeed, a UK brand.
2. The color of the hint relates to a festivity intrinsically related to this country.
You could smoke a Marlborough while doing something that involves [Riddle answer]. A lot of people probably do.
