Have you inspired others to read?

Post by LoremasterTappa »

I know this is a weird question but I was wondering if any of you have inspired someone to start reading on a regular basis? I try to always inspire my nieces, but I have some adult friends that didn't read much until I loaned them a couple of my favorite series. Now they read a lot more than they used to. Most of them are coworkers so it makes the workday a lot more fun when we can discuss a certain book. I was wondering if anyone else has done that?

Sharing books is a great way to inspire others to read! This opens doors to conversations about the books and in turn can lead to your book library expanding exponentially!

Yes, I got my boyfriend into reading. We mostly like different kinds of books, but some books we do both like and it is so fun talking about the books with each other. I'm so glad I inspired him to read :) That would be awesome to be able to discuss books at work too!

yes my daughters...I started taking them to the library from a very young age...............they loved the story telling hour on Saturdays...unfortunately my grandson doesn't share our love of books, all he does is texting 24/7...

My daughter gifted me w/a Kindle, she sends me books very frequently, our reading tastes are similar...

Btw, do they still have that children's story-telling hour?
