I don't think I've ever met anyone from Finland but my sister works for the EU and she tells me that Finland has the most broad minded, accommodating people anywhere on the planet ... she says it doesn't matter how ridiculous or impractical an idea is the Finns will insist on the person's right to put their case and argue it's merits.Heidi76 wrote:I´m from Finland, ok place I guess, like living in a freezer half the year, but so beautiful in the summer.
A couple of years ago I was in our National Gallery and happened on an exhibition of Finnish paintings ... wow the light & clarity in those paintings really blew me away. Walking along a passageway towards the exhibition it really looked as though there had to be a light behind the canvasses. One particular painting was 'A Child's Funeral' by Albert Edelfelt & it left me just speechless. I must have stood in front of it for a good 15 mins. I had hoped to visit again before the exhibition closed but unfortunately didn't get to.
...... and I love my Nokia phone.

A world is born again that never dies.

Yeah, cold. I'm in the subtropical Sunshine State and amazingly it was 2 degrees last night. Okay, it was nice and dry and sunny during the daytime but nearly freezing at night. Personally I'm trying to enjoy it because I know the high summer temperatures will be here soon enough and the humidity will be off the scale. Never liked that icky sticky humidity.Honeybarbara wrote:Australia...east coast ..2 hours from Sydney..bloody cold at the moment ; 16 degrees.I love Summer!

That sounds like New Zealand weather too! 4 seasons in one day! hahaKdor11 wrote:I'm from the city of Regina in the province of Saskatchewan in the country of Canada....I live in the middle of a freezer for about 6 -7 months out of the year but the summer can be rewarding. The joke here is 'if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes'...it can be raining and snowing and be sunny all within the hour!!
