Great to see, some more people on this post.
Hey there Gurkavitch that quote was made by the (tragically taken to early) Gilda Radner. Gene Wilder is one of my all-time favourite actors.

How about....

That would be Tolstoy of course.

Here's one for you:

"When he who hears does not know what he who speaks means, and when he who speaks does not know what he himself means, that is philosophy."

How about....

ULYSSES COULD HAVE DONE WITH A GOOD EDITOR. YOU KNOW PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS PUTTING ULYSSES IN THE TOP 10 BOOKS EVER WRITTEN BUT I DOUBT THAT ANY OF THOSE PEOPLE WERE REALLY MOVED BY IT.

Haha, I threw in Roddy Doyle for you Fran.
Your quote is made by another Irish writer, Brian O'nolan or Flann O'brien. I have never heard of him had a quick look at his profile and it looks very interesting.

How about....

WE DO NOT CELEBRATE THE DEATH OF OUR ENEMIES.

Yea Flann was a famous/infamous satirical writer .. before my time but he did actually work as a civil servant with an aunt of mine, she was not impressed with him. Way too fond of 'bending the elbow' for her conservative values! Probably a square peg in a round hole more likely

Anyway that quote was Yitzhak Rabin

And ....
'I don't have any plugs or tucks but people do what they want. I look at it as mutilation'.

That quote was made by Jack Nicholson. I wonder if it is true. Having a look at him I think it is probably true. Good on him if he hasn't had any work done.

How about....

AMERICA DOESN'T REWARD PEOPLE OF MY AGE, EITHER IN DAY-TO-DAY LIFE OR FOR THEIR PERFORMANCES.

Here's another:

That's the Queen V. (Get it? or is it too subtle? V for Victoria for the ones who didn't get it)
