Even the few 'genuine' photos I am reserved about. Plus the human brain remains untapped, we do conjure up a lot of our own hauntings by very reason that we are in a "haunted" area.

Thats not to say I disbelieve the paranormal, I don think there are other life forms in other planets and a world that continues beyond ours but as long as human beings have a hand in exploring them, corruption and exploitation will always paper over the truth.
Personally I think it's all got to do with darkness and a primordial fear built into us to be fearful of situations where our faculties are seriously diminished, humans IMO are pre-programmed to fear the dark. I've never heard of anyone seeing a ghost in daylight ... now why is that? or are we to believe that there is a day and night in the nextworld that accurately corresponds with our day & night hours!

Thats a great point Fran. If Ghosts are out there wreaking havoc, why only at night. Why when the sun comes up do we not feel so afraid???

What about the movie "Ghostbusters" Fran? Plenty of ghosts turn up through the day in it, and it was based on a true story. Wasn't it? :D :D

Interesting point. Maybe ghosts figure they can scare more people at night. Or maybe they are scared of people in the daytime.

A lot of ghost sightings have been not only during the night, but also when they're in bed. This is normally explained by Hypnogagic hallucinations. That's where, during the first stages of sleep, your brain starts the process of dreaming, often times without you realizing it, and then when you open your eyes you picture what was in your almost dream. Imagine that you start to drift, you start getting the weird feeling that always comes with nightmares, maybe start picturing stuff in your head, and open your eyes immediately from panic and see a person walking across the room. It's your mind playing tricks on you. It was one of the first things I found interesting when I started parapsychology. Always found the Hypnogagic hallucinations fascinating.

I'm scared of the thought of spending life in an eternal fire after death...Hell is scary

I wonder why we fear in the first place. What causes us to fear? Can it be explained scientifically? Anyone?

I have the typical fear of heights, but recently have developed a new fear!
My boyfriend took me snorkeling for the first time on the weekend. It was great and we also did some spear fishing, I'll be going again but living in Australia, snorkeling around rocks I have to be careful of the blue ringed octopus. Every time I go snorkeling I will fear being stung as you do not feel the actual attack but you just become sleepy and never wake up... Creepy right? The ocean is so eerie.

Ever since seeing the Twilight Zone episode of 'Talking Tina' I have had a phobia of talking baby dolls, and never did get either one of my daughters one,LOL! I also would probably crack up if left on Doll Island, Mexico! I don't want to read about or hear about 'Shadow People' either, even though I have no belief in the supernatural,or paranormal,at least that's what I tell myself.
