Re: Best Movies

Post by lady_charlie »

We ordered The Hobbit before it came out in the theatre. We went to see it in the theatre.
We got the extended version for the computer. Big fans. I think my daughter would have let me sell my plasma to get it for her.

Kung Fu Panda and Shrek are so funny and smart! Every time I watch Shrek (34,045 times) we find something else, a movie reference, or something I missed, omg. Plus I have never cared for physical humor but the last ten minutes of Kung Fu Panda just make me belly laugh for some reason.

I like all of the Christmas Carol movies including the last one, animated. It has physical humor that makes me laugh too.
It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. J.R.R. Tolkien

Ive got some of the Marx Brothers movies on VHS. My favorites are Duck Soup and Animal Crackers. They are still funny, even in this day and age.

I agree Huey. My favorite is A NIght At The Opera. Great comedy never grows old.

Im going to add Best Years of our Lives. One of the best ever made. Not the dumb remake, but the original.

True. They must run out of ideas, they have to mess up the originals.

Another one was King Solomons Mines, the original with Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr is one of my favorites. They had that idiotic remake with Richard Chamberlain and they should have made two of them. One to crap on and one to cover it with.

In no particular order...

Gone With the Wind
Defending Your Life
The Holy Grail
Fatso
The Hurt Locker
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Jezebel
The Kingdom
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Crash
Back to School
GoodFellas
Fatal Attraction
The Godfather

Alas for all the kids I raised I can only think of two children's movies Shrek and The Lion King...otherwise Disney is evil
