Although, the point of that essay, I think, was also better captured by Tupac in his poem The Rose That Grew From The Concrete, so even if I would go in that direction for a tattoo I'd probably base it off that poem instead.
For the same reason, I think overall music and poetry would actually be more reflected in tattoos than book quotes. But it's fun to think what you would choose from a book if you had to.
