I'm actually working on learning Japanese, and once I'm done with my self-imposed posting minimum on OBC, I'll be doing just that. But, the three languages I wish I knew are Japanese, Korean, and French. I'm simply fascinated with the first two, and the last is more of an homage to my grandmother who was French, and the family who live in France that I've never met and can't communicate with because of the language barrier.

Spanish because I feel like it's very useful here in the Western hemisphere.
Greek because I want to read some old texts (myths) in their original language.
Mandarin because I'm visiting China soon and I feel like I will be completely lost there without knowing the language!

Japanese because I adore anime and all things to do with the culture in Japan.
Perhaps a bit of conversational German because I have many friends who live in Germany.
I've always loved the sound of the Danish language after watching 'Forbrydelsen' a few years ago with subtitles.

Spanish, German, and Klingon. If I'm not allowed to include fictional languages, then that third one would be Gaelic. Actually, definitely Gaelic because it's a sadly dying language. So is Welsh, so maybe Welsh, too. Ugh, this is harder than I thought. Good question!

I am working on becoming more fluent in French, but my speaking is quite lacking. I spent two years of high school in French class (even becoming French Club President and earning the club scholarship), and I ended up minoring in it as an undergrad. I have only completely read one book in French (L'Etranger by Albert Camus) but I am (very) slowly working my way through the first Harry Potter book.

The three languages I would like to be 100% fluent in are:
1) French
2) German (my husband is German and it would be cool to know what his family is saying)
3) American Sign Language (I know some basics but I would love to get back into it)
