Hahaha same! I would've endured to get to be with the doctor. I think it'd be amazing to be a companion, not only because the doctor is attractive and British, but imaging getting to travel through space and time. Where would you ask him to take you? I'd want to go to the Victorian era, timewise. I'd want him to take me to the craziest, most wonderful place her could think of.
I know, I was wondering that myself. Maybe is was a different Clara. I just looked in the Doctor Who wiki and they said that her mom died, but I'm not sure how canon that is...

Oh. Step mum, maybe?

Yeah I've wondered about where I'd go so many times.
On earth I would like to see who were actually the Greek gods. I'd imagine they'd be a group of evil creatures from another planet, trying to rule earth. In a way they succeeded.
I'd also like to see Scotland in the clan-era, so medieval or something.
But yeah, I think I'd just ask to Doctor to sit the TARDIS infront of the most beautiful area of space, then tie my foot to rope and tie the rope to the TARDIS, then just float around space. XD

I'm one of the cross-over fans. You know, the 'old' doctors vs the 'new' doctors thingy. Well, I think the new 21st century version is as great as the old 20th century version, in different ways obviously, more emotion and empathy, and better special effects although you can't beat a man in a latex suit with bits stuck on. David Tennant is my Tom Baker. Fifth doctor Peter Davison had a hard act to follow, I met him and companion Tegan and said 'hi' to a Dalek.

I loved Amy Pond, Rory Williams, River Song and I guess Matt Smith grew on me but honestly I don't know how I'll react to the new boy in town Peter Capaldi. He's ready to smash a few beliefs if the following is correct--

Script writer Steven Moffat said "The last two Doctors have been brilliant, and have been your ‘good boyfriend’ Doctors. But the Doctor isn’t always like that. There is the sort of Tom Baker, Christopher Eccleston end of the spectrum, where he is mad and dangerous and difficult,” he said. “I think it was time for the show to flip around a bit. The new version of the show is quite old now. We need the twelfth Doctor, in a way, to frighten you and make you think, oh, it’s a different show again.”

I guess we'll have to wait and see if millions of fans embrace the new doctor and his new approach.

Oh, most definitely me! I've loved Doctor Who since it came back on TV, and I've managed to watch every single episode from the classic series since then. My favourite Doctor is still Christopher Eccleston, probably because he was my first, I think. He's just such an amazing actor, and the way he portrayed the post-Time War Doctor… well, let's just say he's very underrated in my opinion.

Scotland, yes! What a gorgeous place, no matter what time you go. That's a really interesting take on Greek gods, I'd love to see an episode of that.

I've seen some Classic Who, but not near as much as I would like. Oh, I've always wanted to meet one of the Doctors! You're very lucky. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't like River Song. I'm not entirely sure what it is. Maybe the fact that she comes across to me as arrogant, not confident. Maybe the fact that she seems to have so much control over the Doctor. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan of hers.
I hope Moffat's right. I could use the show being back to how it used to be. Ever since Matt came on board, and I love Matt and enjoy his Doctor, but it seems the shows just become almost silly and confusing and there's too many paradoxes to count. I don't like it. I think Capaldi is going to be amazing and I can't wait for him.

Agreed! I love Eccleston. He's extremely overshadowed by Tennant. I love him and I always thought he did so well.

The Empty Child is one of the creepiest episodes! Really sweet at the end, but creepy.

Short of an announcement but I am back.
I'll always come back.

I am an avid whovian. Completely obsessed. The attractions only maybe a year old so I haven't watched all the episodes yet but I do have most of them set up to watch. I actually just spent all day watching the classic Doctor Who's.
Of the classics I think Jon Pertwee.. God I hope I spelled that right.. is my favorite.
But alas since the show came back David Tennants my all time favorite. So far. Christopher E is definitely a close second though.
But I also have fangirl moments over Rose Tyler. Best companion in my opinion. Love her.
Well actually I have a Billie Piper addiction. But that's another thing all together.
I even have a Bad Wolf tattoo lined up to get. Soon I hope.

Glad to see somewhere to speak about the Doctor though.
Pretty sure all of my friends and family are about to strangle me for talking about it so much..

Welcome back! :D
I haven't seen all the Classic Who episodes, but a good number of them. Jon Pertwee is awesome! I think you did spell it right, good job! ;P Personally, though, I'm partial to Paul McGann. I think he gets passed over by nearly everyone, but I adore him.
In NuWho, I have to say I love Eccleston, because he's sassy and funny and I just really appreciate him and his acting. Love David, but not as huge a fan of Matt Smith. I mean, I like him, but I don't love where the show has gone since he took the role. Nothing personal against Matt, of course.
Yes Rose! Rose my baby! Her and Donna are my favorite companions hands down no question. Hahaha, yes Billie Piper is incredible. Have you ever seen/heard her music. I want to say it was early-mid nineties, but she was a pretty popular UK pop star. For nineties music, it's pretty catchy, and her music videos are cute.
I want pictures of the tattoo!!
You and me both, dear. I say the word Doctor and my sister gives me a death glare. Oh well, I enjoy my addictions.

I agree. I love Eccleston. I was in pieces when I found out he wasn't going to be on the show anymore. David totally won me over though pretty quickly and I doubt I would have been forgiving to anyone less considering I was brand new to the show and wasn't use to the regeneration thing.
I am not a fan of matt smith on the show. I don't know why because he is quirky and funny but as you said it took the show in a different direction. I like matt in other movies and such but not as te doctor.
I have not checked out or heard of Billie Pipers music but I definitely will now! Thanks! :D
I'll post a picture of it when I get it!
My mom has tis thing where the second the word Doctor is said her eyes glaze over and she no longer hears what I'm saying. But we do love our addictions...

Hello Whovians!! I'm very excited to find this post. I've seen all of the New Who twice, and have seen a fair bit of the Classic Who, but it is taking me a while to hunt them all down (the ones that still exist). I don't think that I could pick a doctor. I love the concept of the show that they really are all the same person and I love seeing bits of other doctors leak into the current regenerations. I loved Eccleston for being my first and getting me hooked, I adored David Tennant because he was just fantastic at everything, and then Matt Smith kind of crept over me. I didn't really like him at first, just because I was so heartbroken over 10 leaving, but the I suddenly realized that most of my favorite episodes were now 11 episodes and I loved the Ponds in a way I hadn't loved anyone on the show since Rose.

I totally get it, Laci, it's not that you don't like Matt, but what happened to the show while Matt was on it.
Hahaha, I know, no one in my family really get my obsession, but that's alright, I've got you guys! :D

Hello, Jhollan! I can't say I've seen them all twice, but I've seen a lot of them multiple times. I think I've seen series one of New Who at least four times all the way through. I just really love that season. Eccleston *sigh* As for Classic Who, I've seen my fair share, but not nearly all of the existing ones.
It is very cool to think of them as all one character, and I love it when New Who references something done in the Classic series.
I don't know. It's kind of an unpopular opinion, but I didn't live the Ponds. First of all, I didn't really like how Amy treated Rory. Also, I didn't like how they seemed to become more important than the Doctor at times. But, I think the Ponds were good for him, so I can't hate them completely.

I guess my favorite thing about the Ponds was that they had real lives and jobs and individuality outside of the Doctor. Mostly, when a companion travels with the Doctor, they kind of give themselves over to the experience and share in the Doctors adventures. With Amy and Rory, the Doctor was sharing in equal parts in their lives as well. The Doctor was a dear friend and a member of the family, but they maintained a "real" life as well, forcing the Doctor to come to terms with some of the realities of being human, instead of just living in the moment (whichever moment he chooses) and having one adventure after another. I'm not saying that the other companions he's had didn't do this to an extent, but I feel like it was more clearly flushed out with the Ponds.

Absolutely! My friend introduced me to the series sometime around 2007 when David Tennant was still the doctor. The first episode I ever saw was "Blink", so I have a soft spot in my heart for the 10th Doctor. I really love Tom Baker as well, but I'm honestly not as well versed in the older series as I wish I was. Lately, it's gotten so dark and depressing that I haven't been watching much. I can only handle so much of the recent stuff at a time!

Yes, two of my favourites! Also, I love the way David Tennant and Matt Smith bounce off each other when they are interviewed or on a photo shoot, zany characters in real life.

What are everyone's thoughts on Capaldi? I think that he's a great actor and he's an interesting choice, but I don't know if I'll be able to get past his significant role on Torchwood. Given that they are supposedly the same "world," it's an odd choice to have him as the Doctor as it leads to a bit of a continuity error...But I'm willing to give him a chance. As I said, he's a great actor, so I'm sure he can pull it off.
