Vegetarian chili. Yeah, I'm a veg-head, too. Ovo-lacto, if anyone cares.
I was raised that way, though (hippie parents), so I can't really take any credit for sacrificing meat.
....Wait....
Oh, you know what I mean.

Haha this post, I love.
Welcome to the vegetarian family!

I've never been one good for following a recipe, I tend to stray and hope for the best and just believe that I'm such an amazing cook that it has no choice but to come out good...
But I absolutely love cooking shrimp scampi over rice, even though I don't eat it haha.
I love when things get all crazy and I'm turning from pot to pan to opening the oven and twirling about in the kitchen on one foot trying to open the cabinet with the other. Though that makes no sense haha, so let's assume it'll be followed by a lovely loud crash!

I'm more of an experimenter. I hate cooking when people are home though, unless it's just a person or two (friends or sibling ONLY), then it's tolerable. My family thinks I can't cook for beans since I refuse to cook in front of them haha, little do the little insulters know... They're terrible!

Baking's quite fun too, especially when there's more people because then it turns into an awesome colored powdery fight! and the peanut butter cookie dough mix turns into Sandman from Spiderman!
And that's followed by someone taking a giant slide across the floor into the wall from slipping on flour... :D

No wonder you like my family...you're one of us (gooble gobble)!
Recipes are just suggestions...starting points.

Oh boy do I concur on that haha.

I like having families that I'm not born into haha, I feel welcomed and accepted. Ironic, yet too dang common haha.

So are you the only veg in the family?

Nope. My brother and my mom are doing the vegetarian thing, too. My mom quit eating meat when she was pregnant with me. And my son goes back and forth with it...but he's thirteen, so he eats like a hobbit.

Ah haha, that's cool.
At least he's trying the veg thing haha.
Now that you said that, if I ever met your son I'd be unable to resist calling him a hobbit...

My family as a bunch of carnivores, except my mum, she loves veggies but loves chicken too... She's just not as bad as the others.

I get teased and am the butt of a joke practically daily for my diet.

My mum also told me that I need to get off this BLEEP BLEEP BLEEEEEEEEEPPPP diet and gain some weight or she's taking me to the doctor's... Pfft, as if I could gain weight if I wanted.
I like being veg.

Hey, my daughter's the same way, with her weight. So was I until I had her. Her doc's always telling her to gain weight, but sheesh! that kid can eat half a jar of peanut butter at a time. She's perfectly healthy, and I'm sure you are, too.

Yeah it goes the same haha.

I one time felt that I practically killed myself eating like a bird (they actually eat double their weight daily so I don't know why people say that to meager eaters...) and consumed practically every food I considered the antichrist (sweets, soda, baked goods, gasp! pasta before bed!, etc) and basically everything that should make you gain weight for a month... What happened? I felt terribly icky and disgusted for eating that junk and yet I didn't gain but a pound and my levels didn't change a lick!
So I gave up on gaining weight, I'll stay at 101lbs thank you...

Hey, I would if I could, too. :)
Actually, I think I'm in pretty good shape for my age and the fact that I sit at a desk all day. I know that's, like, blasphemy for a female, but I never got the hang of worrying about my weight.
So...does my butt look big in this post?

Well this week is NYC Restaurant Week so going out for dinner. But last night I cooked fab baked chicken, with asparagus sauteed in garlic olive oil and seasonings. Yum.

Nope, it does not. 'Cause I'm intentionally zoomed out ;)

The asparagus sounds absolutely delicious!!!! I had some last night, but it wasn't sauteed in garlic olive oil.
