I agree with you. I'm (for the most part) a stay at home mom. It means I have to sacrifice a lot of extras and work harder. But kids need your attention, not a room full of toys. I personally don't think kids need to be beat, but they definetly need to know that actions have consequences. For me, sometimes that does mean a smack on the bum or the back of the hand.

People today have life so messed up. Everyone's working their butt off for a bunch of stuff that doesn't even matter. Why have a big screen tv when you're working 16 hour days to pay for it?!

I've had people tell me I'm lucky that I can afford to be a stay at home mom. Like I'm rich enough I can just be a bum. I work my butt off, but I do it to save money (growing and canning, trapping and fishing, trading and making, DIY home repairs, no car - lucky for me these are things I mostly enjoy doing) and I'm always looking for a way to bring in a little extra income. I think it's quite easy to be a stay at home mom, but you have to be willing to sacrifice the "finer things." Rcently I bought a mini fridge off the internet for 30$ and been staying up late to hunt the dew worms :) If it works out I might start my own worm farm lol.

Okay, soap box is all yours thanks for letting me borrow it.

You sound like you live like people did in the past, more or less living off of the land. The world is too populated for everyone to do that now and its too bad. Ive always had a theory that one day there will be a war, or disease or some great catastrophe that will wipe out about nine tenths of the worlds population and the survivors would have to go back to basics and start over again. But the only way that things would change, even then, is that people would have to change too. I dont know if that is even possible. Everything is in such a mess nowdays who knows what the solution is. A religious friend of mine says Satan is controlling the earth and God has nothing to do with it. He may be right. This is way off the topic but I think its good to share thoughts with others. I better shut up or SKM will kick me off this thread.

If 9/10 died right away. Then 9/10 of the left over population would die out of sheer stupidity. It would be the rise of 3rd world nations who don't desperately depend on technology to live. I'm a big believer in the zombie apacoplyse. You ought to google zombie ants... they exist!!

Ive heard a lot about the zombie thing but I dont know much about it. Ill have to check it out. Like I said, people would have to change but thats not likely to happen. You are probably right, but I think the world would be like those Mad Max movies with Mel Gibson that came out in the 80's, groups of people struggling to survive, fighting each other like the city-states of ancient times. They were a pretty accurate description of what life could be like in the future. Its a cycle that could keep going on forever. Who really knows, it could have all happened before, possibly several times.
