Ula and Urla

Dont feel bad, Suzy. I messed up too. Must have had a senior moment.

Thats a blast from the past. I read To Hell and Back years ago and saw the equally good movie.

Your husband had that many decorations? Thats really cool.

I read somewhere that another actor was the most decorated hero of the Korean War, Gene Evans. He was a bit actor from the 50's. There was a movie more or less based on his experiences, but I dont remember the name of it.

He never even told me............i found the green and gold leather case w/all the medals and a letter, inadvertently in his sock drawer hidden underneath....it was the first load of laundry i was doing as a newlywed in our brand new apt...

Those vets of that era didn't like to talk much about the war...I got more info and a sense of what he endured by watching " Band of Bros. " on the History channel...

Valley of The Beasts

True, most of those guys didnt like to talk about it. My wife's uncle was there when they found those concentration camps in Germany. He was part of the detail that had to bury or burn the bodies. No one knew that for years until just before he died.

I can understand that, I think all of us have seen unpleasant things that we dont like to talk about. I know I have.
