Me too, Misaela. Although I'm not that far along yet - my boy is just over 12 weeks old :)

He has his next lot of vaccinations this week. Dreading it because he didn't react well to the first ones - temperature, crying, not wanting to eat, etc. :(

As far as vaccinations.....I'm not against most of them but I do think the pharmaceutical companies are pushing them without enough testing. As a parent, do your homework! Don't be a robot and just do what the doctor says, read up on things first. My best friend has a son with autism and swears his son changed right after his MMR shot. The medical community wants to negate any links at all to vaccinations, but it is your child! Ask your pediatrician about being on an "extended" schedule of vaccinations. Most will accommodate this - if not, think about how much you really respect this pediatrician and what they think of Your opinions and wishes. I did have my daughters vaccinated as it is a requirement in the US for public school, however, I did have my last daughter on a Verrry extended schedule and Never more than one shot a time! Also, I waited a very long time for her to have her first MMR shot ( I believe she may have been 4). Then, when it was time for the 2nd booster shot, I had her titre tested and she didn't have to have the 2nd MMR shot at all. I supplied the titre test results to the school for proof. If you breastfeed, all the better! Your child will automatically have a lot of your immunities. check out nvic.org. Ok, I'm off my soapbox, but this is something that is very close to home with me and I think more mothers should be aware and be informed!

I haven't vaccinated my boy, and don't think I will. Because I'm still breastfeeding, my doc said he gets my immunities. Also, it's permitted here to provide an affidavit with reasons you will not vaccinate, and it is a valid alternative for school purposes.

I do breastfeed him, so he's well protected against infection. :) I'm in the UK and we have the NHS system, so healthcare is free. There's a new one out for babies for rotavirus but it's an oral dose, not an injection. I read a leaflet on that and I wasn't keen on the sound of it. There are so many different ones, you never know what's safe and what isn't these days.

Sometimes too if you notice a bad reaction they can leave that part out of the immunization...my oldest was sensitive to the pertussis vaccine so they just gave him the other two next time

Reading with the kids has been a challenge, but not. Because I read, they read. My oldest son loves books and my youngest is well on his way to becoming a book worm as well.

I hope my kid(s) become like that too. They'll definitely see that their mama loves to read!

I read more now that my daughter reads so much - we read a lot of the same books and we can talk about them, I hope we can always do that.

I just preordered the next Percy Jackson book for her.

We don't get any more shots than we have to - the doctor has ordered her to have flu shots the last two years, but I never got her one before that and she never got the flu, not even when I had it.

Of course now that I have had it, I am a little more eager to have the shot myself. The flu is no fun.

I had the flu one when pregnant, because I didn't like the thought of being that ill whilst carrying my baby... although it is extremely rare for me to get ill. I seem to have some sort of natural immunity. I'm the only person that ever seems to escape when some sort of bug goes around work. :)
