Also I have a Wii, X Box360, PS2 (I am saving up to get my husband a PS3 for his birthday), plus our Game Cube, and N64 are still hooked up. Up in the closet we have a Sega Genesis Super and original NES which we occasionally take out and play with, I think we might have a problem

Wow, quite the gamer aren't you? Its unusual to see a female that into gaming, what game series do you enjoy. I have not played La Noire but I have heard good things. I personally love the Silent Hill and older Resident Evil games, I havent played my PS3 (the only console i have!) in a while now, the mood comes and goes.Sheila wrote:I was wondering if anyone has played LA Noire and what they thought of it, I am thinking of buying it.

I am, I use to be a closet gamer but I had an ex in high school inform that while huge boy gamers may be considered geeks, girl gamers are just hot. My all time favorite games are actually Kings Quest, and Police Quest for the PC, I remember playing them to 4am with my dad on weekends and during the summer. He worked four to midnight I would wait for him to get home. It is probably the memories that made me so attached to the games. I actually kept a computer that had windows 95 on it for years so I could still play the games, I was pissed when my husband upgraded it without telling me. I still have all the discs for the games though determined to find a way to play them. Other than that for the PC, it would be WarCraft, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology games like that.
As for system games, Zelda, Fable, Resident Evil (Code Veronica was my favorite), Final Fantasy, Fatal Frame, Devil May Cry, Siren, Assassin Creed, American McGee's Alice (love it obsessed with it, I played the first one of the PC) Of course I love Mario Bros, and Paper Mario. I like Silent Hill but only played 2, want to get the others, Left4Dead was pretty good too. Obviously I like RPGs and lean towards the Horror Genre, and prefer games that have a plot line, and I like it when games have puzzles and riddles that you need to figure out to go forward just more challenging and I feel l like I am actually using my brain.
Epic Mickey was fun to play too, but it was annoying that the camera angels would switch mid jump and make you fall.

You can get windows 95 emulators or try in compatability mode. You can also install windows 95 onto a seperate hard drive and dual boot.Sheila wrote:I actually kept a computer that had windows 95 on it for years so I could still play the games, I was pissed when my husband upgraded it without telling me. Old comps are cheap these days, so you could just buy another and install win 95

I agree about Resident Evil, I have Zero through Five, but not a huge fan since four. I never actually finished five. I did not however bother with Dead Aim, the Umbrella Chronicles or the Darkside Chronicles because I heard bad things about it. I am hoping that Operation Raccoon City will be better but I so far I haven't heard much either way,

Operation got a 30% rating in my usual PS magazine so I may avoid that one! A shame im in the minority yearning for the good old REvil days, I remember RE3 was my fave game ever back in early 2000, I literally played it solid for 6 months in a row, funny how you grow out of things as you get older.Sheila wrote:Thanks I will try the emulator first.

I have played through LA Noire twice and loved it. Love the story and interviewing the suspects etc, is really fun. Also you should be able to get it pretty cheap now. There are new missions available for download on xbox live, but I have not got around to getting it yet.
A friend has got me into Minecraft on the xbox. I thought I would hate it but it is very very addictive.
Whenever I get the chance I am playing
Skyrim (xbox)
Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer(xbox)
Resident Evil Revelations (3DS)
Let me know what you think of LA Noire, if you end up getting it.

PS Code Veronica is great, I actually have the original on the Dreamcast.

I first discovered them while doing an internet search for Hidden Object games[like those pictures for kids to find the hidden objects in the scene like in the kid's magazine Highlights for children for my granddaughter.I came across Putt-Putt and Pajama Sam games for her and Little Shop Of Treasures and Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst for me,and it's now been about 5 years of discovering new genres and having a blast playing games!
I don't play hidden object games so much anymore as I know prefer the Time Management games like The Delicious Emily series and Heart's Medicine: Season One,and the adventure/resource gathering/quest-based games like~ The Island;Castaway,Wandering Willows, Hero Of The Kingdom, and the hidden object/building combo game Settlent: Colossus.
What are your favorites and which game sites do you love?

I used to love console gaming, but now I only like playing my 3DS and handheld games because I like having it in my hands - the immediate response type of thing. I guess I like looking down instead of looking up.

Hi there esawyer. Mario Kart is one of the most fun games I have ever played. I think I have every version. Haven't played it for awhile but I do play Mario Kart on the 3DS. Who knows we may have played a round together.esawyer wrote:I have a deep, undying love for the Pokémon franchise. I have logged so many hours on those games that it's a little overwhelming. I used to love Genesis Sonic, but now the newer games are frustrating. I like Mario Kart and most Mario games.
