Okay let's update the above to "Happiness is a Warm Companion Critter"...a big snoring canine with their head on your chest, a fat kitty purring and making muffins in your lap...even a friendly rat licking your ear...for those of you with rodent issues that last one probably sounds like a nightmare...

To be quite honest Loveabull, any of the three would be Hell for me.

Strange things make me happy.
When I was a smoker and working seven days a week I had a happy routine of going outside at three in the morning and lighting up while looking at the stars and listening to Van Morrison's Beside You.
It was my one time during the day that I looked forward to because it was the one time I got to just relax and be myself.

Now since I've quit not only smoking but my job and become much healthier I find happiness by meditating, going for walks and still, on occasion, listening to great music and looking at the skies.
But I'm a scary health freak now. I binge eat on fruit (no more junk food),do yoga every day, read and get lots of sleep.
Who wouldn't be happy?

Finding the new phone book in the outhouse(where it has a purpose) instead of finding it in the library between "Phantom" and
"Photos of Naked Girls"(where it has no purpose). There must be order to the Universe.

I believe it..
I was mentally clawing up the walls for months when I quit.
I still can't stand to watch other people smoke. I just really want one all of the time. It's terrible.

I STILL WANT ONE after 4 yrs.!...i've read that the insane craving never lasts more than 10 minutes, i've found that to be true....IT WORKS!...IF ya can get thru those 10 minutes, which feels like 10 YRS...many a time i " gave in " didn't wait the 10 minutes and RUINED yet another quit...

Now, when i want one, it's akin to craving ice cream , or mushrooms, lasagna, chinese food, etc...although you're " hankering " for a particular thing, you're not about to be climbing up walls for it...a few moments and the desire passes.................Thank God!

As an aside, my mother in her 80's then, asked me to pls mail her 1 of my ciggies, she had quit yrs. ago, i couldn't believe it

Actually, when the boys were young we had a couple of them. Rats, amazingly, have very distinctive personalities and can be quite charming. Cavaet: I don't recall one ever licking my ear...but they will run across the floor, hop up in your lap and curl up on your shoulder as you read. :D

Happiness is a warm home...stocked larder...bills paid...cinnamon rolls baking in the oven...a mug of coffee beside me and my cat...and catching up with the e-mail and news du jour :D
