@lisateb
rssllue is absolutely right - we are all equal in this "Club". But like any club some are more active than others and from time to time life commitments interfere and members absent themselves for a period. But they are more than welcome back anytime.
Just post what you can whenever you can and enjoy the site. It's meant to be fun not a chore! :lol:

I joined because I heard they had a bowling team. And they wouldn't beat me when
they found out how poorly I bowled(How come the pins are so far away?). I belong to
another "book" club. It's for writers and undeveloped writers like me. I still forage in the modifier bins that Conrad and Darwin left here
so long ago, a lot more often than I'd like to admit.
I'm here because life at the other "book" club is far too serious. Last
time I told a"joke", I was on breadfruit and limes forever. Cool
runnings.

Its Life, I guess. I used to be a very regular poster but life events, as well as a bit of a career change for me, has meant I cannot commit to as many posts. Plus there was (is?) one member who seems to post rubbish 24/7 even in her sleep and completely disrupted the flow of the forum with her nonsense.

As for books, Im still reading away. My latest passion is the series of "Bob" books about a cat in London who was nursed to health by a recovering heroin addict and they both helped each other, he wrote a book about it and it quickly became a bestseller, and he has a new one out about how Bob has saved his life. Brilliant and inspiring book. Ill post a review soon. :mrgreen:

I actually felt that way when I first joined and then I just went crazy making posts, trying to fit in. I don't know if it helped or not. Maybe I am the crazy person who is posting nonsense 24/7 that the StephenKing guy was just talking about. Hahaha! 8)

Apart from being interested in books I'm an author. I joined because the site advertised review swaps - Proper HONEST reviews, which is fine if you choose a book in a genre you enjoy so the other person is likely to enjoy yours. I did one and, by chance, we gave each other 4 stars on Amazon. She was happy with my review and hers was good too: very different from any of my others and not just "great, a must-read".
I've been back since but never found that thread again, whatever I put in search. If anyone can direct me leave a message here, where I can find it.
To answer the question, why don't people stay, I think it is because navigating the site is very difficult. If what you want doesn't come up in search there's no "Contact" button for help.

Or some people don't read the fine print when they join and think that they will get unlimited free books and lots of money every week for reading and reviewing books, but then they get kicked out because they are terrible at writing reviews.
