Re: impress you
Yes! I've seen traits of my grandfather in both of my kids, and he died when I was ten. Mostly good stuff, but my son punches when he's woken up, just the way Grandpa Ralph did. I do that, too...but my grandfather's the only one of us who actually broke someone's nose that way. I've taught people the "yank a toe and duck" method for waking my son up. Works pretty well.Fran wrote:@Tralala
I've often wondered how it happens that kids display the same mannerisms as grandparents or other relatives they never met or indeed how adopted kids can often grow up looking very like their adoptive parents. My nephew constantly reminds me of my Dad, whome he never met, in things he says and does and still physically he doesn't look at all like him.
Intriguing?
Have you told your nephew about your dad? I'd find that pretty cool, myself. I apparently look and act a lot like my great grandmother...Ella Mae Hoon...sounds like a joke hillbilly name, but it's not a joke. Just hillbilly.
Yeah, especially with my pets...so I'll end up looking like a rat-gerbil-hamster?Fran wrote:That's not intriguing .. it's just worryingBighuey wrote:Whats also intriguing, have you ever noticed how some people look like their pets?

Something I noticed today, though...the Rooster's hair and Twister (gerbil)'s fur are exactly the same shade of strawberry blond. Hmmm...

Seriously...that gerbil could live in his hair and we'd never be able to find the little guy.
