Re: What am I? Riddle-Game

@Ant throw a rope, please. Lunastella is dreaming of celebrity. Quick! We need to save her from all the fame and glory.
@Alyssa you're still with us? We need an extra hand here.

OK, I hope this one will be easier than some of my others.
This is a famous historical place in the USA.
So famous in fact that books and movies have used it as the background setting of their stories.
People use to live there, but no one lives there now.
It was not that hard to get there by boat but impossible to leave ...... alive.
Perhaps the most famous story about the place involved birds.
What am I?
Luna - I hope your husband is doing OK.

Great, @DATo. Geography and history - I think I skipped school that day.

Not so much the type of history you'd read about in school. Just "historical" in the sense that it is an iconic place that many people have heard about though the place isn't talked about much anymore. I understand they have tours there now though. Like Luna's riddle it is also found in California.

Ok, I'll take a blind shot. Based on the movie I saw - Alcatraz. I don't remember any birds part, but maybe I'm lucky.

@InStoree @Lunastella @Ant
YES !!!
The birds was a reference to the true story of 'The Birdman Of Alcatraz' starring Burt Lancaster in the movie version.
Your turn.

Writers use me as a pen,
I bet you can't be Zen
When I'll tickle you again.
In another word,
Bird.
I'm a symbol,
I'm a sign;
I could be a part of a design.
What am I?

Not in this case, but "avatar" would have been an interesting riddle @Ant.
Clue: it's the part that birds use for flying or swimming.
