Download an audio book & plug in the earphones, put on the dark glasses and away you go ... something like War & Peace should take you through a whole series of TwilightMel Carriere wrote:I'm ranting today about having to take my wife to see the new Twilight movie next week. Thanks for the good advice. I'd much rather have Tolstoy than Twilight.Fran wrote:Download an audio book & plug in the earphones, put on the dark glasses and away you go ... something like War & Peace should take you through a whole series of TwilightMel Carriere wrote:I'm ranting today about having to take my wife to see the new Twilight movie next week. That's funny! I asked my husband to go with me to the new Twilight movie as well because I don't think it will be appropriate for my 12 and 10 year old daughters. They did see the other 3 movies but this one is a bit intense and does have some sex in it I've heard. My husband is going because I asked him and he is a good sport. Plus, it is a "date night"Mel Carriere wrote:Thanks for the good advice. Mel, I sure hope you aren't going on the opening night or even weekend! Screaming young girls and gross cougars! That would make it even worse I'm afraid. lol, good luck! I'm glad you are being a good sport too!

That's a good point you have there, Fran. Didn't think of it that way. It's still too cold though. I'm just all cranky cause I hate winter whether and it's just getting started here. Of course I'd better get used to it cause if it's anything like last year it'll be down below zero eventually. If it does that I'm not leaving my house!Fran wrote:@Teesie .... I've a hell of a pain in my right leg today, think I've pulled a muscle or ligament or something. Really annoying because it's a lovely, sunny, crisp morning here & I can't even go for a walk to clear the head. Got to get to the chemist now to stock up on the Ibuprofen & probably the doc on Monday if things haven't improved.

Cold weather is for the birds, thats for sure. Just throw another log on the fire and curl up with some good books for the winter.Teesie wrote:That's a good point you have there, Fran. We went to see it today. I hate to admit it, but the movie was actually halfway interesting. The inclusion of the human/vampire hybrid baby lent an air of mystery to it, because you didn't know exactly what Bella was going to deliver.
My only real rant is that people in the audience seemed to laugh and clap at inappropriate moments, and I didn't get exactly what they were so amused about. Maybe I'm just a tired old fart!
Anyway, I've seen three out of the four Twilight movies, I'm ashamed to say, and this one was by far the best. I still won't stoop to read the books, however.

A review I read said there were more unintended laughs then intended ones and I think most people were laughing at the absurdities - at least that's why I was laughing. The whole honeymoon scene was frankly absurd!Mel Carriere wrote:
