I am not Bad Luck, Accident, Debt, Tornado, not Bankruptcy, not gambling...However, when I show up, your vehicule could get stuck in first gear. SO FAR, A TORNADO AND AN ACCIDENT CAN COEXIST WITH ME. WE CAN HAPPEN AT THE SAME TIME.
Here is the riddle again: I can cause you to feel overwhelmed and I can cause you to lose your favorite possessions. What am I??? Focus on how I could make your car get stuck in first gear and cause you to lose your favorite possessions OR answer yourself out loud—I felt overwhelmed when I received an .......... of text messages regarding the situation. :eusa-think:

Diana, your use of the metaphor avalanche is very close to the correct answer. This word has the same meaning but is not as frequently used as avalanche.

The metaphor avalanche is very close to the correct answer. This word has the same meaning but is not as frequently used as avalanche. Here is a clue to help: I start with the letter "I".

OK - I can sort of see how the word fits with the car in first gear example because you can 'flood" your car. However, how can being inundated cause you to lose your possessions?
I haven't had my morning coffee, so maybe it will come to me later.
Thanks, Gerry, for stretching my brain.
