Who did you know for a long time? Not counting a parent(cheap shot xD). It has to be someone you've met before and you still talk to him/her. Also describe him/her and how long you've known him/her For me, it's my best friend Chris. He's Vietnamese,short, weird, nerdy, he's someone who can make other people uncomfortable(xD) I've know him for 8 years.(Since Pre-K, and no I did not get left back because I was born in 1999, my Birthday is really close to the next year. If you were wondering.)

I have a friend that i have known since my first day in school when i was 4 and we still keep in touch now and we are 30. He lives in another city now but we still manage to meet a few times a year and keep in email contact. Most of my former schoolmates are now estranged and i dont ever see them, its mostly people from work i would consider friends.

^ Wow Mike I think it's great that you're still in touch with someone for that long! I can't even remember the names of the kids I used to hang out with then (which is sad I know).

I have to say I'm really bad in keeping in contact with school/college/uni mates. I do try and we might exchange emails or Facebook messages for a while then it peters out. But I have a small group of friends (three of them) whom I've known since the beginning of high school so it's been about....12/13 years and we meet up every now and again (just yesterday in fact ), one of them is probably my closest friend and we might not meet for months at a time but when we do it's always like we've seen each other the other day. But I try to get together with her and the other two at least once a month.

I can relate to that. I'm really bad at maintaining contact with people.

As to people I've known, well! It would have to be my best friend, Erica, who I've known 8 years -- very similar story to Timekeepers! Though all my friends from quite as young as you and Chris have long since floated elsewhere.

My friends Cheryl and Theresa, whom I've known for...mmm...nine years, I think. Oh! And Stacey D., I've known her since I was six years old....32 years ago. And my ex husband. I've known him for 21 years, still talk to him almost every day. Whether I want to or not.

My best friend from Virginia, Sarah. I have known her since 2nd grade. Then in the middle of 2nd grade, I was yanked out and put into a private school. I missed her a lot. Then in 6th grade, I was back in public school. For years, I looked for my friend Sarah and finally found her in 6th grade. The sad/funny thing about that was that Sarah lived about 3/4 of a mile from my house! All that wasted time! Anyway we have been friends ever since.

My best friend Lauren. We became friends in year 7 of comprehensive school, so we would have been around 12, and that's nearly 11 years ago now. And I still absolutely love her to bits, she's got the craziest sense of humour ever, she's incredibly caring and looks after me (even though I'm 6 months older) plus she makes the most amazing, delicious cakes for special occasions ever!

Almost all of my childhood friends are dead. Probably the person Ive known the longest is my friend Lumpdog, hes 90 now but he worked for my dad back in the 50's and I worked with him in the early 60's and he lives in Idaho now, we still call each other and send Xmas cards, etc. I call him Lumpdog because he used to go by the name of Chauncey Lumpdog to evade bill collectors and he always called me Gort.

I know my babysitter for a very long time!!! She always takes care if me and she really nice to me!!! Except sometimes she fall asleep!!!

My best friend and I have known each other all of our lives and we are now in our seventies. Still best friends.

My best friend Sandy. We became friends when we went on our Kindergarten field trip together - 43 years ago! We've been best friends all along. She lives not too far from me so we see each other at least once a month. And, for the past 5 years or so, we go away each year for a "girls getaway" to sunny Florida. I love her - she's my dear Christian friend which that mutual love of Christ keeps our friendship solid.

I have two childhood friends i try to keep in constant contact with.

One, Cora, i met in 2nd grade. Our first conversation was about this rubber dinosaur i carried with me everywhere (which i still have..) that i named Stoopy. I dropped him and she almost stepped on him, and i loved Stoopy so much that i screamed "DONT STEP ON THE DINOSAUR" and baseball slid under her foot so she wouldnt hurt my poor Stoopy. Somehow that was our "lets be best friends" thing. Havent seen her in a year or so, but we still talk.
And Destra i met first day of preschool. We were both coloring, and she broke the crayon and started crying so i gave her mine and told the teacher i broke it so she wouldnt get in trouble. Thats the best friend code when your that little. We lived half a mile from eachother until i moved away when i turned 16. Not as close as we use to be, but she's still my bestie.

My friend JoAnna. I've know her for years now. We are really close, we've been close since we met. We just clicked! <3

I have a friend I've known since I was born 77 years ago. We lived one block apart in a small town. We went to school together and came to the "big town" and got jobs when we graduated from high school. We still live in Mankato and are still best friends.
