Celebrate Earth Hour at 8.30pm this Saturday 31st March by reading a book by candlelight.

Turn off the power, light some candles and settle down for a cosy night in with your favourite author - just like more than one billion other people in 135 countries around the world. Turn off your lights and electricity powered appliances from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 31st March 2012 to help raise awareness for environmental issues.

Click Earth Hour to see what famous monuments will be in darkness for sixty minutes.

I'll be in Rockford. If we shut the lights off early, the junkies will assume that we're dead or fled and start looting the place.

We were in a restaurant and I asked them to turn the lights off but they said no. I think they should have got organised and they could have had candlelight dinners for everybody. :D

Lit a chocolate scented candle...filled the tub with oddles of bubbles...slathered on a chocolate/strawberry facial...and had a tiny bit of chocolate proper as well. It was an amazing Earth Hour :)

Wish I'd thought of that. We were on our front verandah surrounded by candles so next day I had to scrape wax off the wooden decking. Apart from that, it was a mellow night.
