Sometimes you just have to nod, smile and be agreeable.

   Brilliant, Gannon, and dont let that be an idle threat! I would love to show you the delights of Waterford and the humble blaa one day.

Personally, I have heard a lot of great advice over the years but one saying will stick with me a long time.

"When you are 20 you worry about what people think of you, When you are 40 you dont care what people think of you and When you are 60, you find out people arent thinking of you at all...".

" If your friends and family really love you they'll accept your choices in life, even if they disagree with them. If you change for them, they cant really love you because they're not getting to see who you really are. Always be faithful to who you are and they'll accept who you are and learn to grow with the idea of who you are with you because of the love they have for you. If thats something they cant do and they lose you, that doesnt mean they never loved you. It just means they're too proud to love someone that much and they will regret it later. Even if they never admit it."
My grandpa said that to me when i was twelve. Always stuck to heart. And i've learned how very true those words are.

My father's explanation of the human condition: "There are more horses asses in the world than horses." It's a quote
attributed to Mark Twain. The advice? Sometimes bad things happen. Don't let them get you down.

Not really advice so to speak, but my friend did say something that I thought was oddly profound in its simplicity. "Apparently, I am one of many who is human." - Kenneth Marshall. I could write an entire essay about the concepts I see in this line alone.

@Carla. The best advice I ever got was from a journalist in Indiana who told me if I wanted a friend, to buy a
cocker spanial. How right she was! He's a terrible chess player, but my most affordable psychoanalyst to date.
